A: Benevity technology provides the means to express your responsible business strategy. Whatever your business goals are, we can help. We can help create or increase reputational capital. We can help increase payment velocity or stimulate purchasing of certain products or other behaviours. We can help increase customer or employee loyalty. As a for-profit company ourselves we understand that integrating responsible business practices involves both social and economic considerations.
Q: How long will it take to implement the Benevity solution in a simple scenario? A more complex one?
A: Depending upon the scope of your specific implementation, the capabilities you wish to leverage from Benevity, and your familiarity with web services APIs
, implementation can take anywhere from a few days to a few months.
Q: How do I know this is secure?
A: Benevity's donation platform infrastructure is deployed using an ITIL-based change management approach. The infrastructure includes a Managed Firewall with Intrusion Prevention, Server Management and Monitoring and Encrypted Communications, using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Access to Benevity's Web Services requires Data Origin Authentication. (This will all mean something to your techie folks).
Q: Does this application meet all required privacy requirements?
A: Benevity adheres to Security Best Practices that govern the privacy and protection of partner and client information. Benevity has partnered with a SAS 70 Type II audited Managed Hosting Provider. The facilities meet the highest standards for physical site security and associated infrastructure.
Q: Does this have reporting capability? Is it simple? How are reports accessed?
A: Benevity provides its integration partners with simple high-level reports (e.g. total amount of donations intended for each charity processed through a partner's system) - these reports are accessed through Benevity's secure site. High-level reports - and the raw data that comprise them - can also be accessed via our web services APIs, depending upon your goals.
Q: How much of my donation will actually go to the charity of my choice?
A: The ultimate recipient charities are subject to a 7% transaction fee (plus any payment provider charges such as electronic funds transfer and/or merchant account fees for credit card donations, where applicable). Most typically, 93 cents on the dollar (minus nominal payment provider charges) are remitted to the charity of your choice. Note that the full amount of the donation is eligible for a tax receipt. For donations processed through Benevity's integration partners we refer you to their terms of service.
